When asked what makes Sharp unique, most of us would say the people - or the Sharpies as we've come to be called. Our team encompasses a unique blend of smarts, ambition, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to one another that truly shines through in our day-to-day interactions and the work we're able to deliver for our clients.
A few key components to the Sharpie way of life these days:
- People First: We're rooted as a NYC-based agency, but we have team members in every time zone in the country. While many firms have mandated a return to office, we've continued to embrace a remote and hybrid environment that provides the best of both worlds - optional office space for people who want to come together (or simply get a chance of scenery), and the flexibility to work from anywhere. It has allowed us to recruit and keep the best of the best in all corners of the country - and have great "boots on the ground" in key markets and alongside our client HQs.
- A Celebration of Strengths - When we polled the Sharpies on the top words to describe our culture, the #1 word was "Supportive." We lift up the completely unique talents that each person brings to the table. We have a deep bench of creative maestros, cultural connoisseurs, news junkies, data nerds, social (media) butterflies, and more. And we give each person chances to be challenged, grow and thrive.
- Growth Mindset - The three VPs who lead our practice areas have each been with the company for 8+ years. They have grown alongside Sharp and have been hugely instrumental in shaping the culture and motivating and supporting their teams. We lead in-depth trainings, host internal lunch and learns, and encourage teams to find inspiration at industry events, conferences, and more.
- Real Connections - Our Culture Committee is constantly finding news ways for us to get together. Twice a year, we bring the whole company together for a few days of learning, creative sessions and lots of fun. Day-to-day, our slack channels on everything from motherhood and bookclub to the Real Housewives keep us laughing and connected.
- Always Evolving - If these past few years have taught us anything, its that we are always open to change. We've reworked our internal structure, set up new ways of working, conduct annual surveys of all employees and are committed to providing the best environment for our people to do their best work.
