Young Collectors Night at the Winter Antiques Show is a vibrant social occasion that brings together the country's top interior designers, up-and-coming collectors, and budding philanthropists, all seeking to experience antiques and learn about starting a great collection. Sharp has produced the event for five years, acting a liaison between the Show, 73 Exhibitors, nearly 80 interior designers on the Interior Design Committee, and the Show's beneficiary East Side House Settlement.
In 2011 we introduced a printed guidebook in which designers offered suggestions about how to incorporate objects from the Show into today's interiors. The expertise of stars from the design community was key in communicating the relevance of collecting to a new generation. This year, as part of an initiative to bring social media to the forefront of the Winter Antiques Show, and specifically Young Collectors Night, Sharp brought the Lookbook online, expanding its reach and lifespan far beyond the event.
The digital Lookbook presented an opportunity to give participating designers participating even more space to showcase their expertise than in years past. Designers were invited select objects from the show, to write blurbs describing how they would use it and submit conceptual design drawings, renderings, mood boards, or recent project photography that illustrated where the piece might fit into their work.
The 2015 digital Lookbook was a great success, with over 50 participating designers, including Nate Berkus, Geoffrey Bradfield, Alexa Hampton, Thomas Jayne, Miles Redd, Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, Richard Mishaan, and Drew McGukin, among many others. Sharp managed the rollout of the digital content in the weeks leading up to Young Collectors Night, and it was a rich source of material for the Winter Antiques Show's social media team to build buzz across their various platforms. Now that the Show has ended, the Lookbook will live on as a resource for promoting the Show throughout year and to highlight the extraordinary objects and insightful influencers that come together for Young Collectors Night each year!Visit the 2015 Young Collectors Night Lookbook here.
