Q&A with David

Where are you from? Peekskill, NY, about an hour north of the city. It was quiet when I was a kid but is definitely benefitting from the Hudson Valley boom that’s happening.

What was your major in college? Music Business, which I doubt is even a major anymore. I had a dream of being the next Clive Davis.

Where do you believe the social media industry is headed? It will become more integrated with other parts of the business and thought of as one aspect of the larger customer experience with a brand. Since a brand experience is only as strong as your weakest touchpoint, social needs to have a defined and complementary role to email, website, customer service, etc.

What is your favorite aspect of working in the social media industry? It’s the intersection of art and science. What you’re delivering is art, but how you’re delivering it is science.

Which social media channel is your favorite? Why? Instagram. Its beauty is in its simplicity. And a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

What is the best advice given to you in your professional development? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
