Holly Jolly Cocktails

It’s finally the most wonderful time of the year! The snow started falling, Christmas lights are shining bright and everyone is shopping for the perfect gift for loved ones. As you begin planning for your holiday festivities, it’s important to have a selection of cocktails for everyone to enjoy. Here at Sharp, we think happy hour is the perfect hour, so here are 3 of our favorite drinks for the holiday season.

Vanilla Cranberry Mimosa – Every party should start with champagne and Christmas is no exception. With 3 simple ingredients, this recipe puts a holiday spin on the classic mimosa cocktail that you can enjoy throughout the night.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces of vanilla flavored vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces of cranberry juice
  • Sparkling wine

 

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker, combine the vanilla vodka, cranberry juice and ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a champagne flute. Fill the glass to the top with sparkling wine. Garnish with fresh cranberries and 1 whole vanilla bean.

 

 

Apple Cider Hot Toddy – The Hot Toddy cocktail is ideal for the winter weather and this recipe add a delicious apple cider twist. Perfect for cuddling up with family by the fire and watching all your favorite classic Christmas movies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz bourbon or other whiskey
  • ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 6 oz hot apple cider

 

Directions:

Combine all of the ingredients in a toddy mug or regular mug. Stir to combine. Enjoy while hot.

 

Holiday Sangria – Wine is a staple at every Christmas table, so why not take it up a notch and add some fruit flare that can be shared by all!

Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles Pinot Grigio
  • 3/4 cup sparkling apple cider
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cranberries, halved
  • 3/4 cup cranberries, whole
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
  • 3 rosemary sprigs

 

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir together with a large wooden spoon to help the sugar dissolve. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. Serve chilled or over ice.
