5 Cozy NYC Hangouts for the Holidays – Brought to you by the Sharp Events Team

by Sharp | November 10, 2017

Sharp’s events team is a group of talented, knowledgable and fun… dare we say gurus? Whenever we’re creating events for clients, Sharp, or just looking for a dinner reservation, our events team is a go-to resource for some of the best venues for any occasion all over the country.

Looking forward to the upcoming holiday season we tapped our events team for a seasonal recommendation; their favorite locations to host a cozy holiday party in New York City. Read some of their picks below! (But just know that they already might be booked for our Sharp holiday bash!)

Classic Hotel Bar: The Library at the NoMad at 1170 Broadway

The Library bar at the NoMad Hotel embodies the three C’s: classic, chic and cozy. Katie Dimiero (SVP, Special Events Director) loves to sink into the plush surroundings while sipping on a perfectly executed gin martini or rye manhattan. The Library at the NoMad is an elegant, inviting sanctuary on a cold, wintry NYC day.

Ol’ Reliable: Corner Bistro at 331 West 4th Street

As the snow starts to fall, sit in the window of this local mainstay and watch the world go by. This old school, no frills neighborhood hangout is the perfect balance of casual and cozy. Megan Brady (Events Assistant Account Executive), Sarah Jessica Parker, and Andy Cohen have been known to hunker here with burgers and pints.

Hidden Gem: Smith & Mills at 71 North Moore Street

An inviting, unexpected nook off the beaten path in Tribeca. This tucked-away oasis boasts only a handful of tables, making it feel more like a close friend’s antique-filled living room than a downtown restaurant. Midge Maguire (Events Account Executive) has been spotted here and the sister restaurant, Tiny’s and the Bar Upstairs, on bitterly cold winter days sipping on cocktails that feel like a hug to your soul.

Sports Bar: Blondies at 212 W 79th St

This is the only place to go on a Sunday when it’s football season. With over 50 big screen TVs and ample space to cheer on your favorite team, Blondies is a spirited sports bar with down and dirty food and drinks. Anndrew Vacca (Events Account Supervisor) swears that Blondies is home to the “best wings in the city”, and believe us… this guy knows wings.

Whiskey Bar: Post Office Williamsburg at 188 Havemeyer Street

Hidden beneath the Williamsburg bridge, this whiskey bar has the best to offer in whiskey and food. Although small in size, the massive whiskey selection more than makes up for the diminutive digs. If the food doesn’t tickle your fancy, head down the street to St. Anselm for a mouth watering affordable steak. The events team is planning their next team dinner and drinks at the Post Office, let us know if you see them there!
