Sharp Communications, Inc. (www.sharpthink.com), a full service public relations, social media, advertising and design agency has recently won three new accounts, and added new disciplines to existing business. Sharp is a unique holistic agency that specializes in reaching affluent audiences across a wide range of categories, including: home design, fine art, higher education, health & wellness, and other brands that target industry leaders in various “passion point” categories. The new accounts include:
- Vertu (www.vertu.com) – for public relations and social media strategy as the national AOR. Activities include multiple new product launches, as well as ongoing media coverage for new “lifestyle services” and technologies that will be introduced to the marketplace. Vertu, a subsidiary of Nokia, is the pioneer and leading manufacturer of luxury mobile phones with related concierge-type services. Created to complement the most discerning lifestyles, Vertu offers clients the finest in service, design, engineering, and manufacturing.
- Pollaro Custom Furniture (www.pollaro.com) – for media planning/buying, website redesign for the Chinese market, and public relations. Pollaro is renowned globally for making museum quality furniture, fitted cabinetry, and fine architectural woodwork. Its primary business is to supply leading architects, interior designers and residential clients with high-end custom furniture. As such, the new acquisition fits well with Sharp’s growing portfolio of design-centric clients and expertise in the A+D category.
In addition to its new wins, the Agency has won numerous new business opportunities through expanded services to existing clients, including:
- Sotheby’s (www.sothebys.com) – for social media services. Sharp is currently the media planning and buying AOR for Sotheby’s worldwide. Sharp also designed and planned the new Sothebys.com website which launched in 3Q 2011.
- Silestone/Cosentino NA (www.silestoneusa.com) – for social media services. Sharp is currently the AOR for national PR and Special Events for the category leader in quartz surfacing.
To support this Sharp start to 2012, the Agency has appointed a new addition to its management team, Terry Seitz as SVP Managing Director. In this role, Terry will oversee the Advertising and Media departments at Sharp, while also managing business development for the Agency. Terry formerly worked at Grey and PHD/Omnicom, where he managed major brands including HBO, Hasbro, ChapStick, GSK (Global).
To oversee the new Social Media business, Sharp has hired Laura Halsch as Social Media Director. Prior to joining Sharp Communications, Laura worked as a Digital Strategist for Ogilvy PR, and most recently as a Senior Digital Strategist for MWW Group. Laura will lead the agency’s social media initiatives, integrating industry best practices with the most current trends, providing the agency’s new and existing clients with even more exposure and opportunity.
“This is a very exciting time for our Agency, as we continue our careful, steady growth across all of our disciplines: PR and Events, Social, Advertising and Design. We continue to hold true to our philosophy that best in class staff produces best in class thinking, and thus attracts best in class clients,” said Jim Brodsky, President, Sharp Communications.
